2011 Catalan Olimpic Shooting Champioship

Today, I’ve participated on the 2011 Catalan Olimpic Shooting Junior Championship. The competition was in the facilities of the Police’s School of Catalonia, in the village of Mollet del Vallès, at 30 km to Barcelona. I had to be there at 12 o’clock but we left Barcelona at 11 o’clock, because it was the first time that we went and we didn’t know the way exactly. Even more, today is the training day for the Spain F-1 race, it will be tomorrow in Montmeló racetrack, and my father said that it was possible to find a lot of cars in the highway. At the end, we haven’t had problems with the traffic and we have arrived a little bit earlier. I’ve waited 15 minutes to start the competition.

This championship was a little bit different to the past competition in Barcelona, the 14th of May, where I participated. The main differences were the place, the participants and the targets. The building was build 20 years ago, for the 92’ Barcelona Olimpic Games and it’s very different to my club. It’s very big, with 60 shooters’ places and with an automatic system to count the points in the targets. In my club, you have to change your targets, but in Mollet there is a TV screen for every shooter that shows and counts your shoot.

There were a lot of participants, from Barcelona, Terrassa, Osona and other places of Catalonia. I don’t know what happens today with me, but I have obtained less punctuation that in my last competition. Today, I have made 231 points and, in Barcelona, I made 245 points.

Well, don’t worry …

This weekend my sister is in a sports camp, with her classmates. All the parents have prepared this like a “colònies”, because this year is their last year in the primary school. They have gone to this sport camp for to celebrate it. They will come back on Sunday afternoon and, in the sports camp, they will practice football, horse riding, swimming, etc.

My first olimpic shotting competition

Last Sunday I went with my family to my first competition of olympic shotting. I went to the club where I practice every week. My competition was at 12 o’clock in the morning. There, we found one friend of us, of the swimming pool. They were there because they know another girl that trains in the same club of me, but she trains Mondays and I I train Wednesdays. I arrived at time and I put on my “street”. At 12 o’clock the referee said that we could start the competition. The competition consisted in 40 shots for the classification and infinite shots to concentrate or to modificate the gun. I made 15 shots of training and when I realised that, I didn’t need to modificate the gun, I started the 40 shots of competitions. After one hour, I finished the 40 shots of the competition.  The competition was one hour and a half. When I was in my shot number 39 my trainer came and said to me “go one moment outside”. When we were out, he said to me that he would give me a counterweight, I use it to point better, but when I said him that I was on the shot number 39, he said that then I will not need because I only had to make another shot. After the competition we stayed some minutes talking with our friend and then we returned home because we were hungry.

On Wednesday I saw the results, it was a little bit bad, but taking in account that it was my first competition, I’m proud of me. The result was 245 points of 400.

Sant Jordi's Day

On Friday 29th, I celebrated Sant Jordi’s Day in the school, with my classmates. We celebrated it that day, because the 23rd April, this year was a no working day. When I got up, I saw the sky and I prayed for not to rain, because this would mean that we could collect less money, for our trip the next year, with the bar, the roses and the rest of activities. At 9 o'clock, I went to the school. When I arrived, I went to my class and then, with the others bar’s responsible, I went there. We started selling: cokes, juices, water, donuts, etc. It started raining when it was almost the time to close the bar. We gathered it running because the rain was stronger and finally my jacket finished a bit wet.

At 11 o'clock, I returned home and then, with my friends Guillermo, the both Oriol, Ariadna and the rest, we decided what we could do with the surprise party of Marina. The day before, we had said to go to the beach but if it was raining, it would be impossible. At last, we were lucky because the sun appeared and we could do it. We went to the beach and there we spent all the afternoon.

On Sunday, I met with Arantxa and Oriol V. and, together, we went to see a basketball match of Oriol C. He lost it, but he played well and the match was interesting

Easter week

In this Easter week, I did homework but also I had some other funniest activities.
Tuesday I met Roger, Albert and Genis (a friend of the primary school) to go to play paddle in the tennis court Olimpia. We spent one hour and a half playing there. When we finished, I went home and, with my family, I went to have an ice cream. I retuned home at 8 o'clock and, like I had finished my homework for that day, I played at WII with my sister. The other days, since Saturday, I was doing homework.

Saturday, it was 23 of April,. Sant Jordi. It is one of the days that I enjoy more, because I love reading and the day after is my birthday. On Saturday afternoon, we went to Passeig de Gracia to buy books. My sister bought two and me another two. While we were there, Roger’s fathers, send a text message to my father to ask us if we wanted to go to dinner in a restaurant near Sagrada Familia. We went there and I had a great dinner. We returned home at 1 o'clock in the morning, so ¡¡¡¡¡It was my birthday!!!!!! The next day, my father left me to sleep all the time that I wanted and I got up at 12 o'clock. When I got up, in my table, there were my presents: a bag for the racket of badminton, a T-shirt and a bag for the school. I liked a lot these presents. I spend all this day with my family. I went to bed earlier than the day before, because the next day I had to go to my grandparent’s house. My grandmother had cooked very good paella and then we ate the “mona” cake.
These holidays started a bit bad for the homework, but it become well since Sant Jordi’s day.

Holland VIII

For me, travelling means to go to another place. It’s not necessary to be far away where you live. When I say this, it means to visit a place, to know the culture, history and things like these. You will say: “yes, but if you travel to a place near you live, the history and culture will be the same”. I will answer that you are right, but I will ask if, in your city, you go to the museums or to the parcs, the theaters or others importants places like these, every day.
It’s not necessary the answer, I know it. For me, travelling is to go to the places where you never go, to visit the places that you don’t visit every day or to be in the streets that you never are. I promise you that, if you go to the nearest village of the place that you live, you will find things that you don’t have in your city. When you are travelling, is more important the feeling that you have than the place where you are.

To resume, for me travelling means to forget all the problems and to relax myself.

Holland VII

Monday 11th April. This day was the last day of the exchange. When I brought the suitcase downstairs it seemed heaviest. On the table there was a big breakfast. I had the best breakfast of the exchange. When I finished, I helped Floor (Thom’s sister) to bring the dishes to the kitchen and when I returned to the living room, in the floor, near my suitcase, there was a small box with a letter to my parents. With the letter there were some postcards of Van Gogh. I said thanks to all the family and goodbye because, maybe, it was the last time that I saw them. Then, the father took his car and he brought me to the school while Thom went by bike. When we arrived, I said again goodbye to the father and thanks for all and I went with the rest of the people.
We had the visit of Utrecht. At 8:30 the bus arrived and we went to the center of the city. When we were there, we made two groups. The first group went to visit the Dom tower while the second group had free time and after, both groups changed the activities. I was in the first group with Marina and Oriol V. The Dom tower is the highest tower in Holland. When we arrived to the tower’s top, the views were fantastic and I made some photos. When we went downstairs, the second group was going up. Then we had free time and we visited the city. When the second group joined us, we went by tram to a place where we did one hour and a half of climbing. After the climbing, we returned to the school and we had a party to say goodbye to Dutch people. At 5 o'clock we entered to the bus and we went to Schiphol, the Amsterdam’s airport.
These days were the happiest days of my life and I will miss all of them.

Holland VI

Sunday 10th April. This day was the relaxed day. I said this because Thom said me that on Sunday we would stay at home with nothing to do. We got up at 10 o'clock. I had a shower and, when I went downstairs, Thom was having the breakfast. When he finished, he went upstairs to have a shower and I sat in the sofa to prepare the questionnaire that I had in my English homework. After 10 minutes, Thom went downstairs again with his Xbox. He started playing to “Halo” while I was doing the questionnaire. I spent 15 minutes to do the questions and when I finished, Thom and me played together with the Xbox. When we had been playing for half an hour, Thom's mother said that he had to take the dog to the street. Thom said “0k” and I went upstairs to take the jacket to go with him. We went around the neighbourhood. We made a walk about fifteen minutes in a small forest near the house. The landscape was incredible, but  I forgot my camera at the house. This made me a bit angry, because I couldn’t do some beautiful photos of the views of the village and the forest.
When we returned home, Thom said me if I wanted to go to a party in Calvin's house and I answered yes. In this moment, Thom remembered that, the day before, we left the bikes in the harbour, when we sailed with Wessel’s boat, and we had to take its. Thom’s father said that he could bring us to Calvin's house and took the bikes but, before, we had to show him where we left the bikes. Thom said yes and I agreed too. We took the car and we went to the harbour. Then, we put the bikes in the car and we went to the Calvin's house. There, we couldn't stay much time, only two hours, because at 5 o'clock we had to go to a restaurant with Thom’s family, to have a celebration in my last dinner in Holland. At 5 o’clock, all the family went to pick us and we went to the restaurant “Colonie”. The food was very good and the decoration was fantastic (I put a photo of it). At 8 o'clock we returned home and I prepared the suitcase, because the next day I returned to Barcelona :'(.

Holland V

Saturday, 9th April. We were in the middle of the exchange and these were the funniest
days of it: the weekend. Officially, it started on Saturday but, for us, it started the day
before, with the party in Thom's house.
I went to bed at 2 o'clock but, only six hours late, at 8 o'clock, I got up because we had
met with Roger, Wessel and his family to go to Utrecht with the Wessel’s family boat.
After the breakfast, at 8:30, we took the bikes. When we started to ride, I asked Thom if
the harbour was far away of the school. He said "No, is near the school". When I heard
this, I got scared because for him, every place was near the school. It was correct: we
had to cycle for and hour and I finished frost. When we arrived to the harbour, the ship
wasn't there and we had to wait for 10 minutes. At last, the yacht appeared, big and
nice, and we went to Utrecht. We went around the main channel of Utrecht. We were
talking and, Roger and me, making photos of the views. We had lunch in the entrance
of Utrecht. At 5 o'clock we left Utrecht and we returned to Neuewegein with the yacht.
This was one of the best experiences of the exchange. Wessel’s family were fantastic
and the feeling of to be in a ship in a city like Utrecht was fantastic. The trip was from 9
to 5. When we arrived at home, we got to the farm of Emilly and we had another party.
It was in another house and, this time, I wasn’t tidying but I arrived home at 2 o'clock
and I was very tired.

Holland IV

Friday, 8th April. At 7 o'clock we got up. I was a bit tired and I had a lot of problems to leave the bed. When I went down the stairs, in the table there was a big breakfast waiting for me, but I wasn't hungry, so I only ate cereals and milk. Thom's mother said that I didn't eat a lot. I didn't answer but I think that she was true. We had to go to Amsterdam, so we had to be very punctual. We left the house earlier than the day before and we went alone to the school. When we arrived, most of the people were there. In few minutes the bus arrived and we went to Amsterdam.
The trip between Utrecht and Amsterdam was about one hour, but we were talking or listening to music and it seemed shorter. In Amsterdam, the first building that we visited was Anne Frank’s house. It was a big disappointment. I don't know how to say it: I expected that the house was more impressive, but the house was poor and dark. I didn't like the visit. In the Anne Frank's house only entered the Catalan people and the Dutch were waiting for us outside. When we finished, all together went to the Rijksmuseum. It's a big museum of paintings. There, we had to make a portfolio about one topic and my partner choose the war. We spend one hour and a half in the museum and after it, we had free time. We had to meet in a meeting point some time later and in this time, I went with Marina and Oriol and our partners to the McDonald’s. I think that for the Dutch people the Mc is like a church. They always wanted to go to Mc to drink or eat something. After the obligate visit to the Mc, we went to the meeting point. We had an organized trip around the channels of Amsterdam. We went in a big boat and, during one hour and a half, we were making photos of all the things that we saw in the channels and in the streets.
After the visit, we returned Thom’s house because we had to prepare a party there. I had a shower and then, I helped Thom’s father to make a fire place, the mother to put the food on the dishes and Thom to put the chairs in the garden. While we were doing this, Claudia and Anna came with their partners to help us.  At 9 o’clock the people started to arrive to the house. The party had to end at 12 o’clock, more or less, but I went to bed at 2:00 because first, I was helping Marc to found the key of his bike, that he had lost, and after it, I was tiding up the garden with Thom and his family.

Holland III

Thursday 7th April. I had to get up early. After wash up, I went downstairs to the dining room. There, in the table, Floor (the sister) and Dirk (the father) were waiting for me and Thom (my partner) for to start the breakfast, cereals and milk. The school started at 8:30 but we left home at 8:00 because we had 3 km of cycling (3 km are more or less 20 minutes by bike). During the trip we met with two other Dutch guys. The four we went to the school. When we arrived I saw all the bikes in the parking one next to the other and it was incredible. The parking was enormous. We made the same groups of the day before and we had a class of Dutch. There we have to represent one conversation in Dutch. The Dutch student’s laughed a lot with our Dutch but I wont to see them speaking Catalan or Spanish. When we finished the interview we did one activity of Europe. The activity consisted into to draw the map of Europe. With my partner nothing happened but there were groups that the maps were for laugh or cry. After the activity we had a few time of break and after we had two hours of P.E. The activities of P.E. were fantastic and a bit tired.

When we finished the classes we cycled faster as we can to the house because we had met in some minutes in the center of Utrecht. We arrived a bit late and we didn't found the other people after to search them for 10 minutes. We found the group of Marina, Anna, Oriol, Xavi,..... and their partners. With all the boys we went to the McDonalds while the girls were shopping. After 45 minutes the girls came to Mc without anything, so they spend 45 minutes to saw clothes. When we met all, we had to return at home because we had to have dinner and to go to the swimming pool. We arrived to Thom's house at 7:00 o'clock and in this time we had to be to the swimming pool so we had to dinner in 20 seconds. After it, we took the bikes and we went to the swimming pool. We arrived at the same time as Marc, Ari, Xavi and Alex and their partners. The swimming pools were fantastic, like an aquatic park. For them, these types of swimming pools, are normal. I had a great time there. When we returned at home I was so tired that I fell down to the bed.

Holland II

Wednesday 6th April. That day was one of the worst parts of the exchange because I had to get up at 3 o’clock, but I was happy because it meant I was going to Holland. At 3:45 we had to be at the door of the high school. So like you could guess, I didn’t sleep that night and the day before I had badminton training, so I was tired.
We arrived at Amsterdam's airport at 9:00 am. There, there were the Dutch P.E. teachers. With them we took the bus and we went to the school. There, all the Dutch students were waiting for us. When we left the bus the greetings and tears of happiness began. We were until the teachers said that we had to go inside. We entered to the hall of the school and we saw what the people said about the school was true. The school was enormous. After stayed some minutes in the hall we went to a class to make games to refresh the memory about what we had learned of our partners. Then we saw some videos of Nederland and we prepared the activities of the next day. After it, we went home and we left the suitcase. In a few moments we were going with some other students to a channel near the village. After it we came back to the house and we had dinner and we watched TV. We went to bed at 11 o'clock.

Holland I

This Wednesday I’ll go to Holland. I’ve been waiting for this moment since my dutch friends of the exchange left Barcelona. I’m very nervous and  I think that the two days before we'll left Barcelona, the classes will be boring and the teachers will fed up with us.
The exchange will be during five days, in a village near the city of Utrech. We'll left Barcelona on Wednesday, at 3:45 am, and we'll arrive on Monday at 12:00pm. There, in Utrech, we will spend the days with our partners and we will visit some importants places, like Anne Frank's house or some museums. This weekend I will prepare the suitcase, but I'm sure that in Tuesday I'll  forget something and I will have to make it another time.
In Holland, I spect to have a very nice days and to enjoy a lot the trip. I hope that all the people could have a nice trip and the echange will be perfect.

Badminton competition I

Yesterday, I had a badminton competition. The competition was in the same sport centre where I train during the week and it was organized by my badminton club. The competition began at 9 o’clock and it ended at 1:30 pm. There were a lot of matches, divided in four categories: Men A, Men B, Women A and Women B. I played in the Men A group, that was for boys between 14 and 18 years and I the youngest.

First, I met with some friends to go to the competition and we went together to the sport centre, where we arrived at 8:45. We trained some minutes and then, the competition started with the matches of the groups Men B and Women B.
At 9 o’clock, the list of the matches of my group appeared and I saw that I had to play first with the best player of my own team, and in my second match, I played with other boy that I didn’t know. My first game was at 10:00, so I waited to play for one hour. During this time, I trained with my friends and I was the referee in two matches, too.

I have said you that my first game was with the best player of my team and, like you could guess, I loss both sets of the match, for 21-6 and 21-8. The match was very short. It was only 10 minutes. I loss my second match too, but in this case, we were playing for 22 minutes and we finished the two sets 21-16 and 21-18.

I’m very proud by my results because, taking in account that it was my first competition, the results were good. I think that I had only a problem in the second game. I should have to win the second set of this game and to get a third set, but I was very tired and my opponent played badminton for more years than me.

A photo exposition

Since the past Saturday I haven’t written noting in my blog. Sorry, I know it and this is the reason that I’ll explain what I did the last weekend. It wasn’t an incredible weekend but I did an interesting thing. Sunday morning, I went to see a photo exposition that one of my friends is doing in the Civic Centre of Les Corts.

My friend, named Àlex, is 18 years old and he has made an exposition of photos about the life in the street. The name of the exposition is “Personal Life” and it wasn’t larger: there are only 22 photos, made in Barcelona, Basque Country and France. The photos were taken during his holidays the last three years. The photos of Barcelona were taken in the districts of El Born and El Raval and they are fantastic. I like a lot this type of photos and all were incredible. I put here my two favourites photos.

If you want to see more information for the exposition  this is the web page:

http://www.lleuresport.cat/candeu/files/12litrefebmar2011.pdf

After the visit of the exposition, we went to the bar of the building of the Civic Centre. It’s very nice, with a big garden with a lot of trees. There, we talked for a long time and then I returned home for the lunch, because I’d met with other friend in the afternoon.

The withe week

This week is an especial week because we don't have class. It's a week to relax, or to go to ski at the mountain, or where you want.
Since now,  I've go to eat a "calçotada", to the village of Santa Margarida i Els Monjos, in El Penedès, and I've see the Carnival parade at the same place, and I've buy some presents for my dutch partner and his family.
Saturday afternoon, I went to the shops near La Sagrada Familia with my parents and my sister. There, we spent more than two hours searching the appropiate presents for my dutch partner and his family. Finally, we found the perfect present for everyone: my friend, his sister, his father and his mother, and after it we returned to home.
Yesterday, Sunday, we have met with some friends and we have go to see the Carnival parade in the village of Santa Margarida i Els Monjos and then, to eat "calçots". They are like sweet onions, but larger. We have go to a tipical country house of Catalonia, a "masia", with a very strange name: Ca n'Aixelà. There, we have eat calçots and meat. After the lunch, we have go to our friend's house, near Sabadell, and they have show us the house, becasue they have rebuild it. The house is beautiful now.
I don't know what I'll do the next days but I hope that it will be fantastic.

The worst monday

I know that I haven't written here for more than a week. I've a good reason.

I was busy because my partner of Holland and his classmates had come to Barcelona. We went to visit important places of Barcelona, like the Parc Güell, the Sagrada Familia and the castle of Montjuic. We have gone to buy things too, and shopping at the most important shopping malls of Barcelona (Glòries, Diagonal Mar, Maremagnum,...). After the visit of the city, we have had different activities. We went to the beach, to play at the bowling avey, to walk by the Rambles,... We have spend five days with them. They were the most happies five days of my life. The last day we have made a party with them in the school. I enjoyed a lot the party and the last moments that they were here. Now, I'm a bit sad because they have left and we must to start another time the routine.
They left Barcelona on monday. The worst monday of my life, I think. Now, I know why I don't like mondays. Because is the day of the week that I hate more.

Here I put one link of a song that tolk about this:

Holland and music

The next week my dutch partner will come to visit us. I’m very excited because I’m waiting for this moment for four months. It’s an exchange and in few months I’ll visit Holland. The five days that he will be here we’ll visit many places of Barcelona: Montjuic, Sagrada Familia,The Ramblas,…

Yesterday my sister had made a music concert. Like you can see in this blog she did a concert every three months. In this concert she played the trumpet and it was incredible. After it, in the afternoon, we went to buy some shoes for her. When I arrived home I turned on the computer to see if my dutch partner was connected but he wasn’t.

A Collserola visit

Today we have went to the park of Collserola. We were my family and one friends of us. We have gone to see one exposition of the animals and plants that live in this mountain. We have seen some birds and a lot of plants and in a video we have seen some wild boar eating in the bins of the villages near the mountain. We have seen the video in the office of the park (see the photo). One of the responsable have told us about the importance of not to throw the rubbish in the night in this villages, because the wild boar come in the nights to the bins. This is dangerous for the animals and for the people. After it, we have went to eat in a restaurant in the mountain. The food was delicious and the views of the mountain  was inpresionant.
This afternoon I’ll have to study Catalan and it will be horrible.

A boring week

This week I haven't done anything interesting. All the mornings, I have gone to the high school and in the afternoons I  have done my extraschool activities. The monday and wednesday I have done English, the tuesday Chess and Badminton, the thursday Badminton and in the saturday I have done Swimming pool.
It's incredible but in this week I haven't done anything important. This week is one of these weeks that you want to finish because every day is the same that the day before. It has been a week that I didn't know if it was monday or thursday, because I have done always the same. The most interesting thing is that yesterday my mother done a risotto. I love this italian dish so I had a lovely lunch.
I repeated three times and I stopped because there wasn't more.

Catalunya Radio

The 12th I've went to Catalunya Radio. This is the radio of Catalonia and the owner is the government. There're four radio stations together:
Catalunya Radio (for programs, music, news, etc)
Catalunya Informació (24 h of news)
Catalunya Musica (only for classic music)
Icat fm (for pop and rock music in the internet)
There, we have visited all the facilities needed to make a radio programe, for example we have saw where the scripts of the programs is wrote.
For a person who loves the radio stars, he would saw a lot of important people but I only recognized Alfons Arus (a famous TV and radio presenter).
The visit was organized by the AMPA (the mothers and the fathers association) of the hig school.

Christmas holidays (second part)

27/12/10 - Barcelona Children’s Fair:

This holidays my sister wanted to go to her school, because it made a “Casal” and there, she could do sports and crafts. But at last, there weren’t enought children and she couldn’t go. One of the activities that were prepared was to go to the Barcelona Children’s Fair, in Montjuic. My mother was working  and my father, my sister and me decided to go for our own. There, my sister did a lot of activities and she didn’t stop in all the day. My fahter and me were following hers around ¡¡three big buildings !!
I couldn’t do many activities because they were for children until 12 years old. I did twice an activity of the Catalan Federation of Olympic Shooting, wiht a competition shotgun; I played a 3x3 football game; and I rode in a track with a mountain bike. At eight o’clock we arrived to my house.

28/12/10 - Badminton’s team dinner:

This day I didn’t go to any place, but in the night I met with the members of my badminton team and we went to have our Christmas dinner. We were fifteen players and two trainers and we  went to a Chinese restaurant that is near the gym were we train. The dinner was very fun and ended at 23:30 h. After it, everybody returned to theirs houses.

29/12/10 and 30/12/10 - Barcelona tour:

These two days, our french cousins came to visit us. They are five: the mother, Valerie; the father, Vincent (that’s my aunt); and theirs three sons: Simon (14 years old), Romain (12) and Lucie (9). They live near Marseille, in the south of France. The 29th we went to the Sagrada Familia and we explained them his history. After it, we went to a restaurant and we ate “tapas”. They love these kind of dishes, so they had a fantastic night. My parents and my grandmother speak french and my aunt speaks spanish too, but my cousins and my sister and me, needed a dictionary. The second day my mother had to work and the rest went to the Gotic Square and the Rambla. They didn’t belive what realistic human sculptures were in this street.

Christmas holidays (first part)

Now,  I’ll explain the most importants things that I have done the firsts days on Christmas holidays.

24/12/10 Christmas Eve:

The night of this day is when Santa Claus came to the houses. My family didn’t celebrate it, but we made a big dinner. We ate prawns with mayonnaise and a salad. To this dinner we met all my grandparents and my family. When we finished the dinner we played cards and my father and my grandfather won.

25/12/10 Christmas Day:

This day, we met the same people that had the lunch the night before. Like a tradition, my mother made Vol-au-vent, a sort of french meat’s cakes. My mother is spanish, but she was born in France ans she lived there for many years. She made the cakes with sausage and mushrooms. My mother, with our help, made green bins with ham and a salad too. When we finished, we played with the Trivial Pursuit, a table game, and my father and my grandfather, that always went together, won another time.

26/12/10 Saint Stephen Day:

Here, in Catalonia, this day is the second most important day on Christmas. We went to my grandparents’ house. They are the parents of my dad. There, my grandmother made “Escudella i carn d’olla”, a sort of soup with pasta and some meat. This is a traditional dish of Catalonia. When we finished, my aunt came and we played Dominó and my grandparent won.
